India’s got the Blues. This ws submitted by a viewer. Really cool set! We are a blues band based in Calcutta, India. We go by the name, The Saturday Night Blues Band and have been playing together for the last 11 years.
The band has been playing at the Someplace Else Pub ,the music mecca of Calcutta every weekend for the last 11 years and over the years have gathered a large following. Apart from that we have been traveling extensively and playing all over the country at bars, pubs, and festivals and has found considerable acclaim.
On the 6th of February,2011,the band opened for none other than Buddy Guy at India’s first proper international blues festival, the Mahindra Blues Festival where we also shared bill with the likes of Shemekia Copeland, Jonny Lang, Matt Schoffield (U.K) and of course Mr Buddy Guy!
